A writer recalls his childhood friends, and the hike they went on in 1959 to find a dead body. They spar with each other, pick up fights with some characters they meet during the adventure and overcome their own inner demons. They find the body, and inform the authorities by an anonymous call. This is a crisp coming-of-age film, in which friends stand up for each other. 

It is based upon Stephen King's novel The Body. River Phoenix, Kiefer Sutherland and John Cusack have played important parts.
