Taapsee Pannu has tried everything in this film- gritted her teeth, dropped her pallu, seduced and kissed a guy, killed him and then ducked Polygraph test. Yet she does not come across as sincere in this role. The effort is much too visible.
Vikrant Massey is on a slippery slope. The last two years have not been very productive. He is sincere here, but ultimately loserish.
Harshavardhan Rane has some screen presence, but has been wasted here.
The love troika, the noir and even the family sequences dont work. There is no soul in this film, much to the dismay of viewers.
The director has allowed much too traction to Pannu to boss around. That might be the reason she has overdone. VM is anyway a silent performer, and might not fit in the leading roles. Someone like Ayushmaan might have done more justice to the role.
