There is a village in Andhra in the 1980s which is under the clutches of a cruel landlord, who misuses the power of the cooperative society to charge high interest rates, fudge records and encroach poor farmers' lands.
There seems to be no way to check this menace. Ram Charan plays a partially-deaf, happy go lucky village boy who falls for Samantha Prabhu. His elder brother takes up cudgels on behalf of the villagers, and decides to contest the local polls. Jagapati Babu plays the local landlord, and Prakash Raj the local MLA.
Rangasthalam is made on a large canvas, and incorporates elements of rural life. Songs and dance are damn good. Acting is first rate.Its a tad long film, but one which entertains.
