The short stories by the physicist Primo Levi in this book are named after various elements, 21 of them for 21 stories! Levi talks about his Jewish and Italian experience with in a somewhat spicy manner, but the humour fails to find much traction with me since I am not well-versed either in Italian or in Yiddish. The collection was published in 1975, and has been highly regarded since. But somehow it does not work for me.
