Richard Jewell was an American hero. As a securityguard at the Centennial Olympic Park during the Atlanta 1996, he located and alerted the authorities about a pipe bomb, but was later made a scapegoat by the media in cahoots with FBI.
This media trial made his life hell for 3 months, although he was never formally charged. But it exposed FBI's unprofessional conduct.
Eastwood has made a beautiful film which soars on the back of wonderful performances by Paul Walter Hauser as Jewell himself, Kathy Bates as his mum, Sam Rockwell as his lawyer and Olivia Wilde as an opportunist journalist.
