This is the story of two girls- one is quite vivacious and is already seeing an Army officer, and the other a repressed daughter of a domineering lawyer who imposes his will upon her.
The latter falls for a sincere, intelligent classmate from a rural poor background but the hurdles in their path prove insurmountable.
Neelima Azim as the confident daughter of SM Zaheer is a riot act. She lights up the screen whenever she arrives. Zaheer is the quintessential kind, considerate Abbujaan. Rajesh Khattar plays Neelima's love interest.Himani Shivpuri, Sadiah Dehlvi,Virendra Saxena and BL Chopra play valuable cameos.
The title song of the series - Mere Hamsafar mere Sath tum, Kabhi Haadason ki dagar Mile kabhi kabhi mushkilon ka safar mile..sung by Shobhana Rao became quite popular.
Watching FWT after 30 odd years has been quite a fulfilling experience.
