Fahadh Faasil is a powerhouse. If he did a Jack Nicholson in Kumbalangi Nights, he has done a Dustin Hoffman in Varathan! This might be an adaptation of Straw Dogs in the Kerala set-up, yet it does work well because of the chemistry between then leads- Faasil and Aishwarya Lekshmi.
They find themselves in a village full of lechers, and even their non-intrusive lifestyle comes into clash with interfering troublemakers. Pushed against the wall, Faasil explodes and creates mayhem. Full points to Amal Neerad for keeping it tense throughout. Firms up my belief that Faasil always has something to deliver, and is perhaps the best actor in the country.
