The
makers must have wanted to make a film on college life, but thought fit to lend
it some higher purpose. The result is Chhichhore which drives home the point
parents and students must also plan for failures in academics, since success is
not always a given.
The
film boasts of some sincere performances from Varun Sharma, Tahir Raj Bhasin,
Naveen Polishetty, Sushant Singh Rajput, Prateik Babbar and Shraddha Kapoor. And
yet , it realises its promise of neither the college story, nor of the reunion.
I
was surprised by Varun , who has managed to remain Varun all these years.Sushant
is a bit underwhelming. I don’t know why the college days are so stuck up on
one Sports Championships, and then hopelessly dramatizes everything to juvenile
cheers.
There
are no layers in this film. What you see
is what you get. Chhicchore is watchable, but eminently forgettable a flick.
